Pedagogy
As an instructor, I foster the critical engagement of my students with social movements through feminist historical inquiry. The constant in all of my classes is my use of feminist pedagogy in order to draw the learner into the world with the goal of changing it. From digital exhibits to self-designed advocacy projects, my students complete creative and practical projects that reflect their experiences and generate knowledge that is valuable to local communities.
I am also committed to engaging students in learning outside of the classroom. In addition to mentoring student activists as faculty advisor for campus organizations, I use “drag king pedagogy” to make information more accessible as my drag persona “Dill Rye the Gender Guy.”
